Our signature service. Together we will design a package for your farm where we can incorporate regular field scouting services along with any other agronomic services that you feel are important for your farming operation. Many of our farmer clients enjoy a ‘cradle to grave’ service which includes fertility planning, crop planning, record keeping, and field scouting starting from before the crop is seeded until after the crop is off and in the bin!

Weed issues, insect thresholds, disease threats, herbicide resistance, nutrient deficiencies, crop staging for herbicide or fungicide applications… These and many other issues can only be properly assessed and managed with careful field scouting. Farmers may feel they require assistance with field scouting due to time constraints with managing other parts of their business, a lack of expertise in certain aspects of agronomy, or various other reasons which are specific to each farm. We can help bridge these gaps. Without the distractions of marketing, financing, and conducting the field operations to make a farm work, we do what we know best and that’s agronomy. After scouting fields we provide reports of our observations including recommendations on how to manage your fields to maximize profits and remain sustainable.

Our ‘cradle to grave’ agronomic package includes:

-          Weekly field scouting from pre-seed to fungicide application

-          Scout every 1-3 weeks afterwards, depending on needs

-          Includes crop management recommendations

-          Field record keeping using CropRecords.com software

-          Soil testing and fertility planning

-          Crop planning

-          If desired, variable rate prescriptions for seeding and fertilizing

Where do you go when your crop is sick? The availability of qualified forensic agrologists in Saskatchewan is limited. Our clients for forensic services have included farmers, insurance companies, law firms, manufacturing companies and various other groups. We specialize in diagnosing any agronomic issues including but not limited to:

  • Spray drift
  • Damage caused by sprayer contamination
  • Equipment malfunctions
  • Fertility deficiencies and imbalances
  • Herbicide residue issues
  • Reviewing reports prepared by other agrologists
  • And much more…
record keeping

Keeping good crop records is an integral part of a quality agronomic program. Having good crop records assists in determining which crops to grow, which crop protection products to use, and what problems to anticipate resulting in less stress during the busy cropping season. We use CropRecords.com software to keep records and also exchange information with our clients. This user friendly cloud-based platform makes record keeping easy and accessible for both us and our farm clients.

Want to take fertility planning to the next level? Using soil zone maps reflecting differences in soil conductivity, topography, soil moisture, and texture, we have the expertise to build prescription maps to enable you to make more efficient use of your fertilizer and seed inputs.

Fertilizer inputs are among the greatest costs for many crops. Guessing what your fertilizer needs are can result in expensive over-applications or yield limiting under-applications. Our soil testing and fertility planning services go well beyond taking samples and providing you generic N, P, K, and S application rates.

We begin our fertility planning process by collecting high quality georeferenced SOIL SAMPLES. We pay special attention in taking quality soil samples which are representative of your fields and handling these samples carefully to avoid contamination and other processes which may lead to erroneous representations of your soil’s nutrition and health.

After receiving soil test results we work with our clients to build FERTILITY PLANS that are tailor-made for your farming practices and production objectives. Using cropping history, soil test results, and your production targets we build fertilizer plans that work with your application equipment availability, fertilizer source options, and application timing preferences.
